🎵 Why Piano, Guitar & Singing Are the Most Popular Instruments
At the heart of nearly every song you hear — from chart hits to classical music — you’ll often find one or more of these three: piano, guitar, and voice. These are the most popular instruments for a reason, and here at KSM, we teach them with a strong foundation in technique, performance, and creativity.
🎹 Piano: The Perfect Starting Point
The piano is one of the best instruments for beginners. It helps students see and understand music theory clearly, develops coordination, and provides the skills needed to compose or accompany others. It's often the starting point for students who go on to play other instruments too! Piano is also a core instrument for graded exams, with ABRSM, Trinity, and Rockschool all offering accessible pathways.
🎸 Guitar: Portable, Versatile, and Fun
From pop and rock to classical and fingerstyle, the guitar is a flexible instrument that suits every genre. It’s ideal for students who want to accompany themselves or join a band. At KSM, we teach both acoustic and electric guitar, offering exams through Rockschool and Trinity, or just playing for fun with strong technique and song-based learning.
🎤 Singing: Your Built-In Instrument
Singing helps build confidence, musical ear, and performance skills. It’s the most natural way to express music — and it’s completely portable! Students learn how to use their voice safely and powerfully, with breathing and vocal exercises, pitch training, and performance opportunities in shows, showcases, and graded exams like ABRSM or LCM.
